:: About the Conference
The African Econometric Society (AES), in association with the United Nations African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP), have the pleasure to invite scientists and all individuals interested in research and teaching in Econometrics, Econometric Modelling and Mathematical Economic Theory to the 11th Annual Conference to be held:
05th July – 07th July 2006
The goal of the conference is to improve the capacity for econometric modeling on the African continent. Previous international contributors include the editors of Economic Modeling, Stephen Hall from Imperial College, London (UK), Peter Pauly of the University of Toronto (Canada); former president of the Royal Economic Society, David Hendry, Oxford University (UK); Hashem Pesaran, University of Cambridge (UK); Pravin Trivedi, Indiana University (USA); Angus Deaton and Marianne Bertrand, Princeton University (USA), Marc Nerlove, Maryland, (USA); Esther Duflo, MIT (USA); Adrian Pagan, Australian National University, (Australia); John Muelbauer, Oxford University, (UK); Chris Udry, Yale University (USA); Duncan Thomas, UCLA (USA); and Sam Bowles, Santa Fé Institute (USA) and Peter Phillips, Yale University (USA).
Goals
The goals of the conference are:
- To provide a forum for researchers in the field to present and share experiences in econometric and quantitative economic analysis as they relate to the African continent.
- To improve the capacity for econometric and quantitative economic analysis and modelling on the African continent.
