Book Review by JOHN ENGELS JR from RIVERDALE, MD USA.

This extremely readable and well-written book offers a generous sample of the vast knowledge and experience of top economists with an interest in helping African countries participate more fully in the increasingly globalized world economy. The authors suggest how Africa might address some of its most pressing economic problems, including strengthening the relationship between research and policy, improving accountability, and better understanding the local context (knowledge, attitudes, and practice). It also includes highly illustrative case studies showing how some of these ideas have been put into practice.
