The United Nations African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP) also invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following vacancies in its head office in Dakar, Senegal:

Head of Library and Development Services: An advanced university degree in Library Studies, Information Sciences, or a related field with a minimum of seven years post-graduation experience. Demonstrable experience of leadership and management is essential.

Sr. Programme Assistant, Development Communications: An advanced university degree in Communications or a related field with at least five years post-graduation experience. Experience of working in a development context and policy communities will be a distinct advantage.Sr. Programme Assistant, Policy

Research Programmes: An advanced university degree in Economics, Development Studies or a related discipline with at least five years post-graduation experience. Experience of work in a policy research environment and knowledge of African policy communities will be a distinct advantage.

Programme Assistants (Research, Training, and Development Communications): An advanced university degree in Economics, Development Studies, or a related discipline with at least three years post-graduation experience.

For all of the vacancies announced, candidates are further required to have a demonstrable proficiency in English and a working knowledge of French or vice versa. Familiarity with core IT applications necessary for a successful professional life is compulsory. An ability to work in a team and to function in a diverse pan-African environment will carry distinct advantages.
